What to expect under each weather or warning signal
Normal operations
Open
The Peak Tram runs daily 07:00–24:00 with departures every 10–15 minutes. Sky Terrace 428 is open 08:00–23:00 (last entry 22:30).
Typhoon Signal 8 or above
Suspended
Service is typically suspended when Hong Kong Observatory issues Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher. Reopening follows official all-clear announcements.
Black Rainstorm Warning
Suspended
The tram may suspend operations during a Black Rainstorm Warning. Check thepeak.com.hk or call +852 2522 0922 before travelling.
Strong winds at Sky Terrace 428
Partial closure
Sky Terrace 428 may partially close during very strong winds even when the tram continues to operate. The Peak Tower indoor attractions usually remain open.
Scheduled maintenance or special events
Reduced schedule
Maintenance windows or special events can shorten hours or alter departure intervals. Always verify same-day status on the official operator site.

- Monitor Hong Kong Observatory typhoon and rainstorm warnings.
- Sky Terrace 428 may close in strong winds even if the tram still runs.
