Sky Terrace 428: Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

Hong Kong's highest outdoor viewing platform — what to expect, best spots, photo tips, and how to combine it with the Peak Tram for maximum value.

At 428 metres above sea level, Sky Terrace 428 on top of The Peak Tower is the highest outdoor viewing platform in Hong Kong — and one of the most dramatic urban viewpoints in Asia.

What You See The 360-degree open-air deck delivers panoramic views of Central and the northern Hong Kong Island skyline, Victoria Harbour, Kowloon and beyond, Lamma Island and the Outlying Islands, and on clear days, Shenzhen across the border.

Day vs Night Daytime offers the clearest visibility and the easiest photography of identifiable landmarks. Night views transform the harbour into a mirror of light — the Symphony of Lights display visible at 20:00 is a bonus if you time it right.

Best Photography Spots The northwest-facing section delivers the classic Hong Kong skyline shot with IFC, Bank of China Tower, and CITIC Plaza in frame. The east-facing section shows the older Wan Chai and Causeway Bay districts stretching toward Shau Kei Wan.

Getting There Sky Terrace 428 is accessed via the tram terminus inside The Peak Tower. Take the lift from Level 1 (tram arrival floor) to Level 5 (Sky Terrace). A combo ticket covering both the tram return and Sky Terrace admission is the most cost-effective option.

Prices and Hours Sky Terrace 428 is open daily 08:00–23:00 (last entry 22:30). Adult admission (standalone) approximately HK$79. Peak Tram return + Sky Terrace combo recommended for most visitors.
